GENERAL INFORMATION
  1. REGISTRATION: Must pre-register to participate. All hikes have limited number of participants, first come, first serve, though we will create a waiting list in case of cancellations. If you leave a voice mail message or email, be sure to let us know the name of the outing, the number of persons in your party, and a call back phone number.
  2. COST: Suggested donation of $5 per person for members of the coordinating organizations, $10 per person nonmembers, collected by leader on day of outing.
  3. No dogs out of courtesy for other participants.
  4. Carpooling is highly encouraged. Once you have registered for a hike, you will be informed on where to meet and special instructions will be given.
  5. Sturdy, closed-toed hiking shoes required. The Owyhee region is a rugged, desert landscape, home to snakes and other desert creatures. Most hikes will be off-trail on sandy, rocky soil, and may require scrambling over dry (or possibly wet, this time of year) streambeds.
  6. Each participant is required to sign a liability waiver form at the meeting site before heading out.
  7. Weather conditions in a desert climate can change rapidly. Dress in layers, bring raingear, water bottles, lunch, sunscreen and hats for variable temperatures.
  8. CANCELLATION: Please call at least 24 hours in advance of the date, so we can contact those on the waiting list.
